T20 Mumbai Cricket Format
T20 Mumbai uses a round-robin format. Each team consists of 11 players (batsmen, bowlers, all-rounders, and wicketkeepers). There are 2 innings, each with 20 overs.
A bowler delivers 6 legal balls before moving to the next over, and each team bowls a total of 120 balls.
T20 Mumbai has a halftime break of around 10-15 minutes for the team switch, and the entire match lasts about 3 hours.
If the match ends in a tie, it will go into a Super Over to determine the winner. Each team will send 2 batsmen to face 6 balls, and the team with the highest score will be declared the winner.

The 2025 T20 Mumbai Cricket League features 8 teams, each representing different regions of Mumbai! The teams are Aakash Tigers, ARCS, Eagles, Namo Blasters, Panthers, Lions, Sobo, and Knights.

Will IPL star players participate in T20 Mumbai?
Yes, star players from the IPL and the Indian national team, including well-known players like Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, and Suryakumar Yadav.
Allowing these well-known players to participate helps elevate the intensity of the Mumbai League and drive ticket sales.
T20 Mumbai Champions
As of 2025, the T20 Mumbai Cricket League has had only 2 champions. North Indians won the title on May 5, 2018, and Tigers claimed the championship on May 26, 2019.
In 2020, the league was forced to pause for nearly 5 years due to the impact of Covid-19. After nearly 5 years, the tournament is finally set to resume on June 4, 2025.
T20 Mumbai Cricket League Prize Money
In 2018 and 2019, T20 Mumbai successfully held two tournaments, with the champion’s prize money approximately ₹20,00,000 each year.
T20 Mumbai Cricket League 2025 Schedule
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced that the T20 Mumbai Cricket League will resume on June 4, 2025.
The season will last for nine days, with the final scheduled for June 12.
The attending teams will be around 6 to 8, so the competition won’t last too long.
Cricket T20 Mumbai Stadiums
Most of the matches in the T20 Mumbai League 2025 are primarily held at two stadiums: Wankhede Stadium (WS) and Dr DY Patil Stadium (DPS),
with additional matches at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Ground, Mumbai University Ground, Dadoji Kondadev Stadium, and Azad Maidan.
- Wankhede Stadium
This international-level stadium is located in South Mumbai (home stadium of the MI team), near the ocean, and can hold around 33,000 spectators. It’s easily accessible and hosted the 2011 Cricket World Cup final.

- Dr DY Patil Stadium
Opened in 2008, this international cricket stadium, located at Mumbai University, boasts a capacity of 55,000 and rivals Wankhede Stadium in grandeur. It features the most stylish architectural design.
Dr DY Patil Stadium is a batsman’s paradise, particularly suited for power hitters, fast bowlers, spin bowlers, and all-rounders.
- Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Ground
This cricket ground is located near the Mumbai city center, in the Bandra-Kurla Commercial Complex, close to the financial district.
The facilities are modern and well-equipped, with high-quality turf, making it a popular venue for various domestic T20 leagues and training sessions.
- Mumbai University Ground
Located within the Mumbai University campus, this ground hosts local T20 events (T20 Mumbai) and university cricket leagues.
It is ideal for smaller matches and practice games, with a capacity of around 1,000-2,000 spectators. The pitch conditions are generally more favorable to batsmen.
- Dadoji Kondadev Stadium（in Thane）
This venue has standard pitch dimensions, but its shorter boundaries make it ideal for big hitting, offering versatility for various sports.
However, its drainage system isn’t as advanced as those in larger stadiums. It is occasionally used for state-level matches, as well as T20 Mumbai and U-19/U-23 games .
- Azad Maidan
One of Mumbai’s most famous cricket training grounds, it features dozens of smaller pitches. Although it’s not a professional-level stadium, it is frequently used for local Mumbai cricket matches and T20 qualifiers.
Due to its heavy usage, the pitch condition is not always ideal, with more dust being kicked up, but the conditions are more favorable for spin bowlers.
