How to Play Satta Matka: Khel Ki Shuruaat for Beginners
Wanna try your luck at Satta Matka but don’t even know where to start? Chill, boss—we got you covered
This beginner-friendly guide breaks it all down: What exactly is Satta Matka, how the game works, how to check results, and even how to play online without getting scammed. No extra gyaan—just straight-up info that slaps.
What is Satta Matka?
Back in the 1950s, desi folks were obsessed with betting on cotton opening rates. Yeah, seriously. People used to bet on the daily cotton prices announced by the New York Cotton Exchange—full-on international gambling vibes.
They’d write numbers on chits and drop them into a big ol’ clay pot called a “Matka” (which literally means jar, btw). That’s how the game got its name.
When the authorities cracked down on the OG version, players didn’t back down—they just switched gears. Cards, paper slips, new methods... and boom—modern-day Satta Matka was born.
Still alive, kicking, and thriving both underground and all over the online space.

How to play matka for beginners?
New to Satta Matka? No worries, yaar we got you.—we’ll break it down step by step so even your nani could get it.
First things first, the results in Satta Matka come in two phases:
- Open
- Close
In each phase, a three-digit number is drawn. That’s called a Pana (also known as Patti or Panna).
Now here’s where the masala math comes in:
- Let’s say the Open Pana is 458
- You add the digits: 4 + 5 + 8 = 17
- Take the last digit only = 7 (That’s your Open Single Digit)
- Now the Close Pana is 577
- 5 + 7 + 7 = 19
- Last digit = 9 (there’s your Close Single Digit)

Put ‘em together and you will get a Jodi (couple of digits): 7 + 9 = 79
So the full Matka result would be shown as: 458 - 79 - 577
That’s how you read the real deal! Oh, and sometimes you'll just see the Open phase only (especially on online result sites).
Example: 700 - 7 → where 700 is the Pana and 7 is the Single Digit.
Types of Bets in Satta Matka
Alright, boss—time to level up from newbie to semi-pro. In Satta Matka, the most basic bets are all about predicting the Pana—aka the 3-digit combos.
From there, you get simpler bet styles like Single (Ank) and Jodi.
But if you're feeling a bit pro-max, there are next-level plays like Sangam, plus some spicy variations added by online sites. And yup, every type has its own payout ratio.

Pana
Pana (000–999) You predict either the Open or Close Pana—basically guessing the exact 3-digit number that’ll be drawn. Here are the 5 main types of Pana bets:
- Single Pana (SP): This one’s for the perfectionists. All three digits must be unique, and the exact order should match. Payout: 1:140 to 1:150.
Example: You bet on 458, and boom—it opens as 458 → jackpot. - Double Pana (DP): Two of the digits are the same, and again, exact match is needed. Payout: 1:280 to 1:300.
Example: You bet on 277 and 377, result comes out 177 → both your bets win ‘cause they match the pattern! - Triple Pana (TP): This one’s rare but juicy. You’re betting that all three digits will be the same—like 111, 222, or 999. Payout: 1:600 to 1:1000.
These triples are unicorn-level rare, so if you hit—badhai ho, you’re rolling in it! - Pana Type Betting: No need to guess the full number—just bet on what kind of Pana will come up: Will it be a Single (SP), Double (DP), or Triple (TP)?
Example: You bet on DP (Double Pana), and the result is 177 (two 7s). That's a DP, so you win, baby!

- Cycle Pana (CP): You bet on a two-digit CP code—like CP 12—and that one code includes a bundle of 10 Pana numbers. If the winning number falls anywhere within that cycle group? You win!
But here's the catch—different sites have their own jugaadu ways of generating these CP groups. Watch out for these common variations:- Sometimes the CP set doesn’t even include your chosen number—it’s just pure luck-based algorithm drama
- It has your chosen digits but spread out across the cycle group—no fixed format.
- Fixed First Two Digits
- Fixed Last Two Digits

Single
You’re predicting the single digit that comes from adding up the Open or Close Pana.
Example:
Open Pana is 667→ 6 + 6 + 7 = 19
Take the last digit → Single = 9
- Single bet variations - Berij: Now we’re predicting the sum of Open + Close Singles, and again, only keeping the last digit. (e.g. 16, keep the last digit - 6)
Example 1:
Open Single = 3, Close Single = 3 → 3 + 3 = 6
So Berij = 6
Example 2:
Open Single = 7, Close Single = 9 → 7 + 9 = 16
Take the last digit → Berij = 6 - Single bet variations - Farak: Predict the point difference between the Open and Close Single digits.
Example 1:
Open = 5, Close = 3 → 5 - 3 = 2
Example 2:
Open = 2, Close = 7 → 2 - 7 = -5, take absolute value → Farak = 5

Jodi
Here you predict the full 2-digit combo (00-99)made by Open + Close Singles.
Basically, you're matching the pair, not the full Pana.
Payout: 1:95 to 1:100
Example: Open = 7, Close = 3 → Your Jodi = 73

Half Sangam
Now we’re entering high-stakes territory, you mix a Single from one phase with the full Pana from the opposite phase.
- Open Single + Close Pana
- Close Single + Open Pana
Payout - A jaw-dropping 1:1000, DAMN!
This one’s not for the faint-hearted, but if you hit it—you’re basically the main character now!

Full Sangam
Full Sangam, don't get me started with this crazy payout (1:10,000 to 1:15,000), I could literally have a heart attack.
You’re predicting both the Open and Close Pana—that’s a total of 6 digits. Basically, if you nail this one, you're not just winning—you’re practically retiring
